Completed Network Alterations

As had been emailed to all active clients about two weeks ago, we have embarked on an exodus from the Mzima network we've used, for the most part, nationwide since last December.  Here is the current standing on the changes:

Atlanta:  No changes, we maintain an Internap presence.

Chicago: No game server network changes.  Ventrilo has already been moved to a new network and the DNS fully propogated to wrigley.hidef-voice.com (most clients saw no interruption in service).

Dallas: No game server network changes.  Video relay and ventrilo networks have already been moved and DNS fully propogated to cowboy.hidef-voice.com (ventrilo).

Los Angeles: No game server network changes, however we are consolidating our hardware into a new cage in the same facility (lower power costs, streamlined remote hands).  Clients that have been using service in the other cage will have their service moved to the other cage with a new IP sent to their email.   72.37.X.X clients in LA can expect to be moved on 12/5/2008 with a short 5-10 minute interruption of service in the eary morning.  216.6.X.X clients in LA can expect to be moved on 12/15/2008 with a short 5-10 minute interruption of service in the early morning.

New Jersey: We have already moved our game server network over to Choopa in Newark, NJ.  Still pending, however, is the ventrilo network change from Mzima to a Level3 BGP in New Jersey.  This move can be expected to occur by 12/15/2008.  DNS will remain the same: gotham.hidef-voice.com.  The only difference clients will notice is that they may need to clear their DNS cache from command prompt to have that DNS point to the new service ip.  To do this simply open command prompt and type the following:  ipconfig /flushdns

Seattle: Our ventrilo network has already moved to a new BGP that is more friendly to our Canadien client base.  Our game services will move to that same network in the next 48 hours with new IPs being emailed to each client affected.

That is all for now.  We are currently negotiating with a particular network in San Francisco to turnup service in that location.  While we do not guarantee that service will turn up, this is just a notice that we are considering it and any input you may have on this location would be beneficial to us and the rest of our client base on the West Coast.
