HLTV Relay configuration -OR- I'm confused about HLTV

Our dedicated HLTV relays are quite easy to setup. After your order is setup, an email is dispatched to you which includes the IP and Port for the HLTV relay itself, a URL to the HLTV control panel and the userame/password for accessing the HLTV control panel (which you chose when placing the order).

With that information, here's what you do:

1. Login to the control panel with the information provided.

2. Click the HLTV module to access the controls for your HLTV server (typically the format is as follows: "$USERNAME - HLTV - $LOCATION Control Panel" --or as an example: "hltvclient - HLTV - Dallas_TX Control Panel".

3. Click the "HLTV: Edit HLTV Server Configuration" button, this will open up the hltv.cfg file so you may edit the connection information and other options.

4. Typically, all you will need to edit in this config is as follows:

a. connect 0.0.0.0:27015

-If your game server is 1.2.3.4:27015, change it to show as such

b. serverpassword "changeme"

-If your game server is passworded, replace "changeme" with the gameservers connection password in quotes ""

c. adminpassword "changeme"

If you wish to record demos or administrate your HLTV from a remote console program like HLSW, input a value here to serve as the rcon

d. spectatorpassword "changeme"

-If you wish to lock up your hltv relay to prevent unauthorized viewing of practices, scrims and matches, please input the password you will require spectators to input

That's it for configuration. Now click the big green arrow to go back to the index of options and click START. The hltv server should show online at the IP and Port provided in the email. If it does not, there is a problem with the configuration (either on the game server or on the hltv).

Troubleshooting Your HLTV:

Ensure that your game server allows proxies and that you have do have the correct private password. Make sure the port and ip are correct as well. Assuming those items are all correct and the server still will not connect, please join #hidef-support or file a support ticket from your hltv control panel (top left - Support - File Support Ticket) and let us know that you are having this problem. We can put the HLTV server daemon in debug mode to find out the error and help correct the issue for you.
